Privacy Policy

Cavalier Labs LLC (“Cavalier Labs,” “we,” “us”) builds software that is private by default. This policy explains what our apps do and don’t collect. It covers our website and our apps, including House Band.
The short version. House Band generates music on your device. We don’t have accounts, we don’t run ad networks, and we don’t sell data. The only time anything leaves your phone is an optional, clearly-labeled feature described below.
Information we collect
Apps
House Band and our other apps run on your device. Audio is generated locally and is ephemeral unless you save it. We do not collect your generated audio, your listening history, or a device advertising identifier. We have no user accounts, so we never ask for your name, email, or password to use the app.
Optional online features
Some features are opt-in and require a network request. When you use one, only the minimum data needed is sent, and only for that request:
- Station enhancement. If you create a custom station and choose to improve a weak text match online, the short text phrase you typed is sent to our server (and, from there, to a language-model provider) to generate station settings. We do not send your audio, and we do not log the phrase.
- Shared station links. If you open or share a station link, the link encodes station settings only — never audio and never personal information.
These features are disclosed in the app and can be turned off in Settings. With online enhancement off, the app works entirely on-device.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive Apple’s subscription status to unlock features, but we never see your payment details. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
Website
This website is served through Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process standard technical request data (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver and protect the site. We do not add advertising or cross-site tracking cookies to this website.
How we use information
We use the limited data above only to make the requested feature work, to keep our services running and secure, and to prevent abuse. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or resale.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate — for example, our hosting and network provider (Cloudflare), Apple for purchases, and a language-model provider for the optional station-enhancement request — and only to the extent needed to provide that function.
Data retention
On-device content stays on your device until you delete it. For optional online requests, we keep only what’s necessary to operate the service (such as short-lived, anonymous rate-limit counters) and do not retain the content of your requests.
Children
Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices
You can turn off optional online features in the app’s Settings, delete saved content within the app, and remove the app to delete its on-device data. If you have a question about your data, email us and we’ll help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our apps evolve. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
